Transforming Material Visibility: The Clear to Build Initiative

Our New Product Introduction (NPI) Supply Chain and NPI Material Management teams faced a persistent challenge: how to consistently provide accurate material data to support project demands. Our builds, supplier data, and intercompany transactions were stored across multiple sources. To determine ‘Clear to Build’ dates, we had to manually merge data from various reports, validate on-hand quantities, and piece together a picture of material availability.

Recognizing the need for change, we formed a dedicated team to create a solution. Our Clear to Build team combined historical insights with new data sources and innovative processes to develop a smarter, streamlined approach.

Our solution: the Work Order Component Shortage Dashboard.

Now accessible across our Division, this dashboard marks a major step forward in providing a trusted, efficient tool for predicting Clear to Build dates. It delivers fast, reliable insights that empower teams to make confident, informed decisions.

Thanks to this initiative, material visibility has been transformed - bringing clarity, speed, and accuracy to a once-complex process.
